When you picture a physical fitness adult boot camp in your mind, chances are that it’s populated by a plethora of young blond men and women with movie-star good looks, tanned skin, and inspiring builds. Thanks to TV and movies, that is the mental image that many people have of fitness booth camps. However, not everyone who lives in or travels to the state is already in perfect condition or below a certain age. If that was the case, there wouldn’t be need for a single weight loss camp in California. However, intensive weight loss programs are popular in the area, and one of the biggest groups that is taking advantage of them are people who are over 50.

As the baby boomers grow older and more and more medical information becomes available to the public, there are plenty of individuals looking to improve their health by improving their physical fitness. Not everyone taking part in these programs is dealing with obesity — there are many people who actually attend a fitness boot camp to maintain the health that they currently have in the face of growing older. As this group is becoming a significant portion of the customer base, many of the boot camps are tailoring programs to meet the needs of older clients, such as low-impact exercises that are easier on the joints.

10 Weight Loss Tips

Weight Loss Tips, 10 weight loss tips --> http://www.free-weight-loss-guide.com/10-weight-loss-tips/
Here we bring you 10 Weight Loss Tips that is sure to help you lose some weight.

1- Dietary control and exercise. All you need to do is watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. It’s really that simple. So basically eat less and exercise more.

2- Start reading labels. I know it sucks, but you have to do it – and there’s no way to avoid this tip. If you don’t know what you’re putting in your mouth, you’re flying blind. Don’t assume, either – triple-check the ingredients list and serving sizes. You must rely on yourself for this; nobody else is going to be able to lose the weight or do the math for you. It’s not that complicated a task, but it will require effort. If nothing else, just pay attention to the calorie count.

3- Set realistic goals. You can lose 50 pounds in a week if you work out 12 hours a day and eat nothing but celery – but not if you’re human. Slow and steady wins the race. Don’t bite off more than you can chew – literally. Make small goals on your way to the bigger goal(s). In the end, you’ll have achieved more (and more frequently, might I add).

4- Reduce fat. With regard to fat, the research is clear: Diets too high in fat promote overweight and obesity. You should strive to consume no more than 25 percent of your calories from fat – and that fat should the “non-saturated” type.

5- Watch your weight. Some people say that you shouldn’t weigh yourself more than once a week. I’ve been much happier charting my progress every day. No matter what, you need to weigh in at the same time, every time. For me, that’s 10am every morning (or somewhere thereabout). If you decide to weigh yourself every single day, understand that your weight will fluctuate by one or two pounds – and that you should only keep a serious eye on the lengthier trends.

6. Drink a lot of water. Water not only acts as a solvent for many vitamins and minerals but also is responsible for carrying nutrients into and wastes out of cells, so the body functions properly. As a rule of thumb, you should drink a half-ounce of water for every pound of body weight daily, unless you’re very active, in which case you should increase your water intake to two-thirds of an ounce per pound of body weight daily.

7.  Don’t eat right before bed time. In general eat at least 2 hours before bed time. Food consumed close to bed time will not have time to digest and will turn to fat quicker.

8. Get Plenty Of Sleep. Studies have shown that there is a direct link between sleep and weight loss. When we’re tired we either eat “less than healthy” food to help keep us awake, or we’re simply too tired to be bothered preparing something healthy, so we eat junk because it’s easier. So make sure you get plenty of sleep – as close to 8 hours each day as possible.

9. Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Fruits and vegetables are packed with beneficial fibers, vitamins and antioxidants. They fill up your stomach fast so you feel full earlier. They are also low in calories and helps to keep your calorie count low.

10. Do not Skip Meals. Eating small frequent meals help to balance your calorie intake throughout the day and also keeps your blood sugar level balanced. Instead of eating 3 big meals, try to eat 5 – 6 smaller meals throughout the day.

Breaking Down the Differences Between Eyeglasses and Contact Lenses

Summary: There are major differences between the two medical devices. It’s important to speak with an eye doctor to determine what’s right for you.

In major studies, over 60% of United States residents are using medical devices such as contact lenses or eyeglasses to correct their vision. While each person has their own unique situation and needs and may require using one method over the other due to health issues or personal preference, there are plenty of people that prefer the option of contact lenses. Here are some advantages of both to help choose what’s best for your lifestyle.

Glasses

Glasses offer flawless relief from vision issues like astigmatism, myopia, and hyperopia. Some of the advantages include less eye irritation, glasses that can be crafted for nearly any prescription, and ease of use.

Furthermore, as opposed to contact lenses, they can be easily removed and worn without any hassle. Many people view their glasses as an important part of their daily outfit and prefer not to wear contacts. Glasses do come with negatives as well. According to Lens.com, some people experience vertigo due to their peripheral vision being out of the radius of the glasses and have trouble playing sports while using these bulky frames.

Contacts

Contact lenses have become the major go-to medical device for vision correction. Some advantages that include covering one’s entire field of vision, cheaper prices, and the fact that they are safer for those who participate in physical activities like running or playing sports.

Contact lenses do have their negatives as well. Not everyone is able to wear or tolerate them. Some people suffer mild irritation or discomfort from wearing contact lenses. Unless your prescription is on the lower end, it is highly recommended when you order contact lenses that you upgrade or purchase new eyeglasses as an emergency option.

My Goals for Loosing Weight

What is your greatest personal fear? What are you doing to overcome it? Two of my biggest personal fears are reaching my goal weight…and growing old alone. I have always associated so many things with my weight as an excuse….I believe I have been fearful of getting to my stretch goal weight of 175….and life not being perfect. For example…when I get to my goal weight I will start my own company. When I get to my goal weight I will get my certification. When I get to my goal weight I will get serious about finding a relationship in my life because I will have better body that someone will be attracted to more. All of this created a fear of…what if life is not perfect at goal weight? Then it would not be about the weight, it would be about me. So I built up this crazy fear of being at goal and everything is not perfect.

This is something I am working really hard on right now. I can get my certification on the way to goal. I can build my company on the way to goal. I can get serious about dating and a relationship with the body I have now. Hitting my stretch goal should be a CELEBRATION…..not a fear. What about you? What is your fear? Have you created that fear? Can you tackle it and overcome it?

If you are going to loose weight, you need to set some goals and stick to it.

How Sunglasses Can Protect Your Vision

You are likely well aware of the fact that spending too much time exposed to the sun can give you a headache and even damage your eyes. Sunglasses have become increasingly popular, and for good reason. Beyond using glasses as an accessory, sunglasses are great at keeping your eyes safe.

Protection From Dangerous Rays

The main way sunglasses help protect your eyes is by protecting them from the dangerous ultraviolet rays that the sun gives off. The rays that can damage you, by either causing skin cancer or by giving you a nasty sunburn, are very intense on the body. However, these UV rays that silently damage your body cannot be detected by the human eye. Fortunately, a solid pair of sunglasses from a reputable manufacturer will usually come with a protective coating that can block out nearly all of the ultraviolet rays from coming into contact with your eyes. In addition to cutting down on ray exposure the coating can help keep you from squinting, even in particularly bright environments. You can pair the sunglasses with biofinity contact lenses to see and keep your eyes protected.

Dust Protection

If you have ever gone to the beach or the dessert you know how unsettling getting dust in your eyes can be. Running on the beach or getting in the way of the small breeze could leave you with sand or other small materials in your eyes. Beyond needing to rinse your eyes with water, the inconvenience of airborne debris coming in contact with your eye can lead to infections and small scratches on the surface of the eye. Sunglasses can act as a shield for such materials for your Lens.com contacts.

Contact Lens Cleaning Tips

Contact lenses introduce a new level of freedom that can help you focus more on what you are doing and less on making sure you can actually see what is going on around you. While cleaning a pair of eyeglasses can be done with just a microfiber cloth, keeping your contact lenses clean is a bit more of an involved process. Following some simple steps can make this a breeze.

Clean Solution

No matter how much are contacts you need to use fresh contact solution. A common mistake people who wear contacts oftentimes make is reusing a single bottle of contact solution for far too long. Contact solution has an expiration date and can actually lose its effectiveness after a certain period of time. Furthermore, microparticles that can be harmful if introduced to the surface of your eye can start to grow inside of the contact solution bottle.

To prevent this from happening, simply pay attention to the expiration date and make a note of when you opened the bottle. Pay close attention to the care labels on the bottle and keep the solution stored in a cool and dry environment.

Remove Makeup

If you are someone who regularly wears makeup, it would be best to get in the habit of removing it before dealing with your contacts. Most lenses, whether from your local optometrist or Lens.com, are made out of very fragile materials. Additionally, you do not want to run the risk of getting small particles in your eyes, which can potentially scratch the surface of the eye or infect it.

The Benefits Of Hemp Oil

Article Provided by Express CBD Store

CBD oil provides users with a wide variety of health benefits. Some of these benefits are new discoveries, others have been known for some time. If you suffer from stress, or feel deprived of sleep, you may find hemp products useful to you.

Hemp Water

For example, hemp water can help people who suffer from stress and sleep deprivation, or pain and anxiety. It also helps provide you with healthy skin and nails, in addition to healthy hair through the antioxidants it contains. Hemp water’s health benefits are numerous.

CBD water contains the necessary ingredients that help stimulate brain development (like fatty acids). It also contains omega 6, which helps to maintain a healthy heart. Hemp oil is also used to help balance people’s hormones. These oils can support the immune system too, which is particularly useful around cold and flu season.

Mood Affects

Studies have shown that hemp oil can improve the mood of anyone who ingests it. The omega 3 in CBD oil has been found to improve the symptoms of patients suffering from bipolar disorder. They also control the dispersion of neurotransmitters, which help to improve neurological disorders. Those suffering from anxiety and depression now have an alternative to prescription medications.

Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that none of these benefits are approved by the FDA. Still, the research has come from credible sources and invites some discussion and testing. If you are seeking to improve your health, alleviate depression or anxiety, then CBD oils may help.

What Happens When An Eye Doctor Reports Vision Loss To The DMV

Article submitted by Delta Driving School .

Any doctor who believes that it is no longer safe for you to drive can report you to the DMV. This kind of report is called a Confidential Morbidity Report. Once this report is received, the DMV will investigate and examine the person. Occasionally all that will be done is they will be sent a Driver Medical Evaluation Form for their doctor to fill out.

Usually, however, they will send the person in question a letter in the mail which will ask them to set up on appointment to come in or else have their license revoked. If the DMV believes that the person is an immediate risk when driving, they can suspend the person’s license immediately. If not, they cannot suspend the person’s license until after a hearing.

According to the laws of the DMV no doctor who reports a patient is allowed to be sued, even if they were wrong and the person’s driving was not affected. On the other hand, any doctor who is aware that their patient’s vision has been impaired and who does not report this can be sued by the patient should this cause an accident, as well as anyone else who got injured because of them.

Other parties besides doctors can also report a person to the DMV. This can include but is not limited to: police officers, friends, or family members. This Confidential Morbidity Report may not be filed anonymously, however, the person who is accused may not be told who filed it.

Can You Drive in California with Dementia?

Article written by Delta Driving School

Dementia is a brain disorder that causes a loss of cognitive functioning and can inhibit a person’s daily life and activities. Physicians are required by law to report a patient diagnosed with any condition marked by a lapse of consciousness to the California Department of Motor Vehicles. The DMV is then authorized to take action against an individual’s driving privileges if he or she is unable to safely operate a motor vehicle due to the condition of their dementia.

If the physician’s report suggests an individual has moderate or severe dementia, they will no longer be permitted to operate a motor vehicle in California. Alternatively, drivers who have dementia in the mild stages may still possess the cognitive functions necessary for safe driving and will be required by the DMV to participate in the driver Re-examination process.

The Re-examination process involves three phases: an in-person interview, a knowledge test, and a special driving test. All three phases of the Re-examination process are put in place so the DMV can make a final ruling on a driver’s mental competency and cognitive skills.

Drivers who complete all phases of the Re-examination process without issue will generally not have their license suspended or revoked. However, appropriate license restrictions may be applied. Common restrictions include no nighttime driving, no freeway driving, or driving only within a certain radius.

Can You Wear Contact Lenses At Night?

Summary: Contact lenses should not be worn at night. Doing so can cause severe irritation, dryness, and potential infection.

Contact lenses are medical devices that are used as vision correction tools. They function similar to glasses but without the actual physical frame attached. Moreover, they’re a comfortable option that work well for those that live an active lifestyle. But, many people wonder whether they’re designed to allow users to sleep with them at night.

They Won’t Keep Your Eyes Moist Throughout the Night

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Most major brands advise against sleeping with contact lenses as the natural proteins and lipids in your eyes can cause the contact to break down. Moreover, any bacteria trapped in your eye will unlikely be flushed out until the morning. The amount of moisture within the contact lenses, depending on the type of contact, will last for a period of time – this doesn’t count overnight use.

You Face the Risk of Infection

If you are wearing contact lenses overnight, you’ll likely already feeling the symptoms of leaving them on. Dryness, irritation, and the risk of infection are only some of the detrimental symptoms that you’re likely going to feel. Out of all the symptoms, the risk of infection is probably the worst thing that you’ll deal with. For one, if your eyes do get infected, you’re not only missing out on work, but you’ll also need to schedule an appointment with your doctor and be prescribed medication. Moreover, you’re going to have to deal with time it takes for the healing process to complete. Wouldn’t it be easier to simply take them off before bed as opposed to dealing with the consequences and pain of wearing them?
